For a day of buttery pastry goodness

Catch me before I fly south again for a day of laminated dough and pastry. Learn how to make Danish pastries gluten free with tips on handling the soft dough and shaping the pastries. Puff pastry can be used to make a multitude of delicious things! We'll make cheese straws, mini shallot tatins and puff pastry parcels. Spread the cost with 2 payments of £85

Sometimes it's easier to spread payments out a little. I also offer a half price place to one low income student on each course, in exchange for an hour and a half before the course starts, help serving lunch and the same at the end of the day to help me clean and tidy the kitchen and pack away. I allocate the place on a first come, first served basis.

FAQ

  • Is the course suitable for those with a coeliac diagnosis?

    Yes, absolutely! I have coeliac disease myself, so all ingredients are screened for suitability and stored in a completely gluten free environment. The venue is a mixed use kitchen, but we will make sure that we clean everything thoroughly and use all measures we can to protect ourselves from accidental contamination.

  • Can you accommodate dairy free students on this course?

    I can provide dairy free alternatives, but not egg free recipes. Because dairy free alternatives do not contain the same proteins or fats, your bakes will be slightly different, but still delicious. Please make sure I know about your dairy free diet well in advance of the course and be as specific as possible. Many people can tolerate butter as it contains virtually no lactose, or may tolerate goat or sheep products. The more info you give me, the better your experience and lower my stress levels will be! If in doubt, contact me directly before booking.

  • Is the course suitable for a plant based diet?

    Although I do offer recipes that are suitable for a plant based diet, this course is not suitable, due to the limits of the course set up. Some of my online courses offer alternatives for plant based diets, so please check those out!

  • Is lunch provided?

    Yes! We'll eat a vegetarian lunch of salads or soup, depending on the weather. Please let me know in advance if you have any food intolerances besides gluten.
